When KU launched (1979-95), it was considered the largest nightclub in the world, holding 10,000 clubbers. If you’ve seen pics, it really seemed to attract the most interesting crowd, in a club setting never seen before – pools, palms, so much space. KU still – to so many – represents Ibiza’s glory days; it was considered the open-air Studio 54.
In 1994, KU was home to Claire and Mike with Manumission, and in '95, KU became Privilege, the name it’s still known as today.
The posters we have are from the collection of a former employee of the nightclub during these years. Most of the posters were designed by Parisian artist Yves Uro (1954-1995).
